A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed
A bedside crib will allow you to keep your baby close to you at night, without having to get up. The fabric is breathable and allows you to see your baby easily and they are simple to lower when you require an early feeding.
Some also double up as a moses basket too.
What is a bedside crib?
A bedside crib (also known as bassinet or co-sleeper) is a baby crib that is attached to your adult bed, allowing your infant to sleep comfortably next to you. This is a safe form of co-sleeping that does not increase the risk of SIDS like bedsharing. It can also help you bond with the newborn baby.
They usually have a side that can be raised, so you can easily reach your infant during the night for feeding and comforting. This is particularly beneficial for mothers recovering from the c-section. Many are portable or foldable making them suitable for trips and as an interim solution for babies who aren't ready to move into a crib that is large enough.
Choose a crib that has an air-conditioned mattress, as well as a protective cover that will protect your baby from staining. You should also purchase baby-safe accessories like a blanket, teether and a soft toy.
If you are looking for a longer-term solution, some cribs come with conversion kits that allow you to transform them into a toddler bed or a cot when the time is right. This will prolong their life and make the transition easier. Some models have a removable portion at the top that can be converted into an infant bed. Other models can be used with a standard adult bed or a high-rise one. This is a great option for families who are planning on frequent travel or transferring between bedrooms throughout the night. Consider the dimensions of your room to ensure that you be able to fit in the crib comfortably. Many cribs come with a riser which can be used to create an inclined position for infants who suffer from reflux.
The Joie Roomie Glide
They are known for their high-end baby products for babies, the English brand Joie has stepped into the world of bedside cribs with the Roomie Glide. The idea behind the product is to aid parents in bonding with their children while sleeping together, without sharing a bed. This co-sleeper has features that help make bonding between parents safe, easy and fun.
One of the key features is a smooth rocking motion that can be activated by the push of the button. This will help soothe your baby to sleep by a gentle rhythm that doesn't disrupt their natural sleeping pattern. This is great for toddlers and older babies who are struggling to settle and can help with digestive issues like colic and reflux.
The crib can also be fixed to the side of the bed with an attachment strap and clip. This makes the crib solid and secure, allowing you to sleep peacefully, without having to worry that your child will slide off into the middle. The rounded cocoon shape has soft padded sides and double mesh windows on both sides to allow plenty of airflow while making sure your baby is safe.
The included mattress is comfortable and firm. It also comes with a washable cover. The crib is simple to assemble and disassemble with an aluminum frame that is lightweight and makes it very portable. The four lockable rubber-covered wheels ensure that the crib will not leave marks on your flooring and are easy to move. The crib is easy to clean due to the fabric that wipes clean and can be easily packed in a bag for long-term stays.

travel bedside crib Cots For Tots found that the CoZee was a safe and comfy place to sleep for her baby. She was pleased that it didn't move like other models so she wasn't woken up in the night trying to comfort her child for feedings. She also liked that the side of the chair could be lowered so that she didn't have to reach over her partner to lift the child out to feed her at night.

The CoZee comes in charcoal or oak and is a stylish addition to any bedroom. It's more modern than the other cribs we've tested, which are often quite utilitarian. It's also fairly light at just 11kg and comes with a carry case which allows you to take it away on holidays or when you move your home. It's all you need to buy is an waterproof sheet and a safety strap for sleeping together. There are step-by-step directions and photos to assist you in putting it together when first opening the box, making it a one-person task if needed.
The Maxi-Cosi lora
The Iora is a bassinet that can be placed at the bedside that helps parents feel closer to their infant while they sleep. It adjusts upwards and downwards and slides through three positions to fit beside the parent's bed, or in the corner of the room so that the baby is always within arm's reach. The mesh siding allows air to flow through, and allows you to quickly see your baby. You can also store more pajamas and other supplies in the large storage basket underneath.
In contrast to other bedside cribs Iora is a standout among other bedside cribs. Iora folds flat and comes with a carry-on bag to allow it to be carried anywhere. It was easy to move from room to space, and our mom testers thought it was the right size for a bedside crib. The large storage basket is great for storing extra bedding or nappies.
This is an excellent choice for parents who want to co-sleep but do not want to share their own beds, or whose partners might be prone to mobility issues, such as arthritis or back pain. Our mum testers love the fact that they can easily access their child in the Iora, and that it has an option to tilt the bed upwards to aid in reducing gas.
Our moms love that it follows NICE guidelines. These include placing the infant in the Moses basket or crib on its own, without toys, blankets or pillows. The mattress is also firm and comfortable for the baby, and sheets are easily available. It's not as light as the other cribs that are smaller on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier to move, choose another alternative.
